Busy Season

Uhhhh, hello April. …and goodbye! Howdy May! …oh, we’re almost done. Sheesh. Is there some scientific explanation as to why the months and years feel faster as we get older? Because this is madness. This spring has FUH-LOWN by. And will lead into a busy summer too.

  • School gets out in ONE WEEK for summer break, so you know what that means!! HALP.
  • Our Mexico vacation is rapidly approaching (EEP!).
  • Two days after we get home, I leave for a wedding in Utah.
  • The day after that, I have my first pop-up sale where I’ll be selling some of my handmade clothing!
  • All my “spare time” has gone to editing photos from recent events and photo shoots.
  • I’ve been planning a girls’ trip to Portland for this summer, while Paul is planning his own hiking trip. Then we have a weekend trip to Vegas together! Ooh lala!
  • Somewhere in the mix of it all, I’ve had to see all my doctors, list clothes to Poshmark, start a podcast with Paul, sew like crazy, get a new license, figure out what I’m doing with my life, get our passports, post to Instagram, email our senators, do laundry, work out, forget to send my mom a gift for mother’s day, read up on new and very stupid abortion bills, not fall asleep while driving, self care, take my meds. Oh, and raise a very grumpy, yelling Stevie! The usual. No big deal.

Can you tell I’m a bit overwhelmed? Haha.

Obviously some of those things are more important than others, but I think the raising Stevie part has been the most… interesting. AKA Tiring. Not only does just being in his presence feel like a full-time job, but he needs to be ushered to therapy and swim class and registered for summer camp and we’re also trying to figure out if he would benefit from an after-school program. (OR WOULD *I* BENEFIT FROM AN AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM HMMM?)

Anyway, I’m feeling the need for this vacation so hard, and I’m hoping I can just let go and enjoy a magical city with my magical husband. I have one last linen outfit to sew before we leave, but that’s kind of a tall order right now, so we’ll see how that goes.

I think I just needed to write all that down to clear out some brain space. Thanks for reading my ramblings.

Loves,
jaana
