Christmas Crafting Week: Tinsel Tree

Oh, this tinsel tree.  I made so many mistakes that it took forever and I had to redo it 3 times. It’s not difficult by any means, but I didn’t have a tutorial to follow, so I was winging it. And we all know how that goes.  My uncraftiness really had a chance to shine through!

Now that it’s done, I think it’s simple enough for anyone. It will take a little bit of patience though.

What you’ll need:
Styrofoam tree
Gold glitter
Gold pipe cleaner (1 pack of 100)
Heavy duty scissors

Steps:

  • Cover the tree in gold glitter. I just put a light coat of glitter glue all over it and let that dry. This is just so you don’t have white styrofoam glaring through.
  • Start sticking the pipe cleaners in!
  • You have to keep them pretty close together and you’ll use a lot of them.
  • Trim the pipe cleaners to the desired length. Preferably in the shape of a tree.
  • The end.

How did I make so many mistakes?? Blarg.
