Down Time in Southern Utah

Weekend between Christmas and the New Year. Paul has time off. Hmmm… I should catch-up on editing photos. I should get the house in some type of order. I should, I should, I should do so many other things.

But spending some days being lazy sounds nice. Spending some time in a quiet town sounds so good. Seeing the fam sounds way awesome. Too awesome to pass up. We get the chance to extend our Christmas celebrating by a few more days…

It’s on.

It took 10 unbelievable hours for the usual 6 hour drive and we started to rethink our decision big time. Luckily Stevie was a gosh damned ANGEL. And I’m not being sarcastic. It was unprecedented and wonderful. It made the drive tolerable. And we were successful with the lazy days, so I think we made the right choice.

I am mostly surprised by how many naps I took. Really. Like I must be pretty tired! I haven’t slept so much in years. We did some other stuff too, but that nap thing really blew me away.

Now we drive home with still-tired eyes somehow. Cheering on Stevie as he practices saying “more” and discussing New Years resolutions. The long road and blurry lights ahead as we pray to the heavens that it’s a quick trip. Then the post-Christmas depression and the New Year’s motivation can kick in. Hopefully more the motivation thing though.
