Oceanside Day Trip

Let me just start by saying there are not many people I would drive to San Diego County for.  We’re looking at a potential 8 hour round trip.  In one day.  But luckily that didn’t happen, the stars were aligned and I was destined to see my friend Alicia while she was visiting from Utah.  Even Stevie was in a good mood!

Alicia and I were sort of college roomies back in the day. (I say “sort of” because I wasn’t technically living in her apartment, but all the girls in Apt. #223 took me under their wing.)  We were young, we were so very silly, and we had some of the best times together.

Now that we are moms, sure, things have changed some.  But I still had a splendid afternoon hanging with her and the kiddos down on the beach, Diet Cokes in hand, watching the sun set over the ocean.  Those are the moments that fill up your soul with yummy goodness.  Couldn’t have asked for a better day trip, in fact.  So grateful that they let me crash their family vacation and her husband allowed me steal of little of her time.
