Some Holiday Shopping

I don’t like shopping at the last minute.  And by “last-minute” I mean any holiday gift shopping after December 15th.  I just like having it organized and getting all the packages sent at a reasonable time so its off my plate and my recipients actually get things before Christmas Day.  I pride myself on good gift-giving etiquette.

But this year I really didn’t have a choice.  I got a little shopping done here and there throughout the first couple weeks of December, but you know how it is when you are shopping with your kid(s)!  You’re out of the house and technically you’re shopping, but its sort of like putting a goat in a Christmas sweater and then walking them through a store on a leash, all while you are trying to pick out the most amazing scarf ever.  I really have a tough time focusing on the task at hand.  I feel like I can’t make decisions because I’m so pre-occupied trying to feed/calm/entertain the little goat so he doesn’t ruin everything in arm’s reach.

And that is when a Daddy comes in handy.  He actually doesn’t mind a trip to the big, red store and I love when he joins us because I can shop and he can entertain.  Yay for shopping and yay for daddy and yay for the shocker that the stores weren’t as packed as I thought they’d be!
