Spring Adventuring: Part 4

Is this series getting too long?  Are you bored of my Savannah pictures yet?  It feels really wrong writing all these posts in a row.  Plus I’m dragging it out a bit so I seem interesting.  If you can handle it, please continue!  There are more!

Our 3rd day in Savannah, we had a bit of business to attend to.  You see, we planned this whole trip around a very dear friend of ours getting married.  And Paul was one of the groomsmen.  So once in awhile he had wedding duties – one of them being the rehearsal.

And day 3 really started there.  At a quaint little chapel near the Bethesda Boys Academy.  After a quick run-through of the ceremony, we had some free time, so we met up with friends for lunch.  Our first pick had a long wait, so we quickly yelped something close by and ended up at the adorable Starland Cafe.  When I say adorable, I mean it was a house.  It felt like we were invited by the locals to brunch.  Very quaint and yummy.

After eating, we did what any good american folk do and we walked somewhere else to eat more! This time it was sweets and treats.  Back in the Day Bakery had some great cupcakes and blondies while Foxy Loxy delivered a mean vegan chocolate chip cookie.  I mean legit delicious.  Not good for a vegan cookie, just a dang good cookie.

Once we felt sufficiently stuffed, a few of us headed over to Forsyth Park.  It’s on every “What to Do in Savannah GA” list.  So I felt compelled to cross it off.  Some people compare it to Central Park, but I wouldn’t go that far.  It’s not nearly that big. And it has it’s own character, again with the moss looking all purdy and stuff.  Honestly, I have more pictures of dang moss from this trip than I care to admit.  Like what am I going to do with all those?

Whatevs.  We enjoyed a stroll through the park and then we had to get ready for the rehearsal dinner. Wait, didn’t we just eat?  Yes.  That’s what vacation is all about.

The rehearsal dinner was really cool and casual at a waterside grill on the outskirts of town.  It, again, was like a scene from a novel.  Or a teenage rom-com summer camp movie.  I loved it.  We ate a shrimp broil and hung out on the dock, getting to know all the relatives of the bride and groom.  We stayed until it got dark and then met up with friends again for drinks and late night snacks.  MORE?!  Yup.

Another great day on the books.

  1. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve always wanted to visit Savannah (I was a Girl Scout starting with Brownies, and Juliette Gordon Low formed the first troop there.) Visiting vicariously through your words and pictures is fun!
