Summer of Stevie

While the last couple weeks have pushed me to my limits, this past weekend had some really… fulfilling moments, helping to put me back in a little better state of mind.

Not only does crying like a baby help, but I worked on Friday.  If it had been anything other than a wedding, I probably would’ve rescheduled.  Turns out, it was good for me to get out and be around people and try to make them smile and feel beautiful.

On Saturday night, I got some much needed date time with my hubby doing one of my favorite things in the whole wide world – going to our annual Dave Matthews Band concert.  It did not disappoint, I felt loved and young and connected to the music.

Then on Sunday, we made some time to clean out our storage unit and donate a whole buncha shit that I’ve been hanging onto for the garage sale that just wasn’t meant to happen.  Now that’s done.

Stevie wasn’t feeling well on Sunday afternoon, and as bad as it sounds, it was kind of a nice break.  He took an extra long nap, and wanted lots of snuggles, and just wanted to lay around.  We all needed that.  And I took the opportunity to finally work on a video that’s been on my to-do list.  Stevie’s summer adventures. Watching all the footage made me smile and reminded me that I kind of kicked some ass this summer taking Stevie to so many new places – and this video just skims the surface!  He kind of kicked some ass too because he was much more flexible and up for trying these new things.  The past 3 summers, all this stuff was torture, so once again I was reminded that he has come a long way.

Watch it.  It’s cute.

  1. This is so great!! I especially love his interaction with the goat — precious! I long for your water-filled adventures — I really miss that as a young mom. And, I know you are not thinking of this, but it is a fantastic love letter to California. (as a missing native, I cannot get enough of Southern California). XO
