I'm Mother #1. Dang.

I’m going to tell you all a fun little story!

Someone who you all know & love likes to shop.  Since this person became a mother, there are many trips to Target, but all other shopping has been cut down drastically.  She received some gift cards for her birthday and thought it would be a great excuse to get out and do some damage to the mall.  However, her 1-year old doesn’t care for the mall.  She first realized this when walking through the Glendale Galleria (a HUMONGOUS, three-story mall) and she had the loudest child in the whole place.  He was bored being pushed in his stroller and decided yelling would be much more entertaining.  A lot of people stared and some laughed, but said mother was a little embarrassed and got out of there as quickly as possible.  Not a whole lot of shopping to be had that day.

So when she received those gift cards, she was definitely hesitant.  But she thought of a brilliant plan!  She would take the child’s buggy (instead of a stroller) and he could cruise through the mall in his cool little car.  He never complained in that thing before and he liked being able to see the world, so surely it would work.  And it did for about 20 minutes.  Then the fussing began.  So mother dearest tried snacks and juice, but finally realized she better just check out and get out of there with the few things she found.  But this did not appease the little 1 year old.  In fact, when they reached the checkout line and the buggy stopped moving, he completely lost his mind.  He began screaming bloody murder, as if someone were ripping off his fingernails one by one.  Mother’s arms were full and she didn’t have a stroller to set her things down.  In a panic, she asked another mother in front of her to hold her stuff so she could pick up the screaming, snotty 1 year old.  I’m sure mother #2 was glad to help as long as that child stopped shrieking.  But alas, this 1 year old’s scream was so horrifying that it scared all the other babies in the store.  The sweet little napping red-head in front of them woke up with eyes as big as saucers wondering what the horrible noise could be.  And immediately teared up in fear.  So now mothers #1 and #2 are trying to calm their upset children.  As soon as the 1 year old was removed from his buggy and lifted into his mothers arms, the commotion stopped.  And in fact, he was so happy, that he started waving hello to all the strangers around them.

Looks like mother #1 is done shopping for awhile.
