- I am more scared of the dark now than when I was a kid.
- The last couple weeks, I’ve been driving down to Orange County a lot for work, and the traffic has been awful! My GPS sends me on a scavenger hunt all around LA to places I’ve never even seen. And for some reason, I always reach the point of can’t-hold-my-pee-for-one-more-second in the worst looking neighborhoods. You know, where everyone looks at you like you should apologize just for setting foot on their grounds? Popping outta my car, waving to everyone, like “Hey. Just gotta pee and then I’ll be on my way! Sorry!”
- How do people shop for bathing suits? Seriously. I think I’ve ordered 100 of them online and they never look right. Going to the stores is not much better. I have to take about 50 suits into the dressing room and just pick the one that looks the least worst? BATHING SUUUUUITS! My mortal enemy.
- This week, at the wading pool, I was embarrassed to be that mom. You know the one. Helicopter parent. “Stevie, don’t do this. Stevie, stop doing that. Stevie, be careful. Stevie, don’t touch that. Stevie. Stevie. Stevie. No. No. No. Blah blah blah.” After about an hour of this, I realized everyone there knew who Stevie was and I just wanted to punch myself in the face.

Oh my gosh! I hear you about supervising the kids at the pool! For the record? We freaking love THAT mom. If you’re on the situation, we can just chill! You’re a good mom! Stop worrying about what we other moms are thinking. That rueful smile? It’s because we’re thinking, “Been there! Have the t-shirt”.
