Stevie Fan Club {Little Red Wagon}

I am up to my eyeballs in editing photos this time of year, but I had to mention Stevie’s little red wagon. Because it’s his new favorite thing.  And who knows how long a favorite thing will last?

It’s no secret that Stevie likes to roll things down our hallway.  It has been referred to as the “bowling alley” on several occasions and seems constantly cluttered with either balls or cars. (Yay!) He also had a couple toys that he loved to push while he ran up and down the hallway, until recently when our neighbors complained.

Womp womp.

Listen, he’s WAY too loud.  And we know that.  We honestly couldn’t believe it took them this long to say something. And the worst culprit of all was the toys he liked to push while he ran back and forth with those Sasquatch feet.  The stomping and the rolling wheels across the tile, over their heads, time and time and time again was too much to bear.  So all those toys went into hiding and we even donated some to his preschool so he could play with them there.

When Stevie became increasingly more difficult during our afternoon walks – ya know, like running into the street, trying to get away from me, throwing fits when I went the wrong way, not listening to a single thing I said, the usual – I figured he needed a task while we were out.  So I had the brilliant idea to pull his wagon out of hiding.  It’s a silly little wagon that came with those MEGA BLOKS, so it’s really light and easy for him to control.  I never thought of it as an outside toy, but it’s not getting used anyway, so whatever.  He was excited to see it again.

stevie fan club, parenthood, mega bloksstevie fan club, parenthood, mega bloks We’ve been taking it with us everywhere.  It has transformed our walks.  He wears his stretching casts without complaint.  He willingly holds my hand as we cross the street.  He keeps his glasses on (most of the time). He carries our leftovers from dinner or perhaps a few small grocery items.  He is literally walking a mile+ and it’s all like a dream.  He is so cute and feels so responsible for his wagon. Let’s hope it lasts into this next week.
