Oh little Stevie boy.  TWO YEARS OLD!  In some ways, I don’t remember life before you.  It feels like you have been around a good long while.  But still, how the time flies.  It’s hard to wrap my head around all the things you have been through.  That we’ve all been through.  There is more to come, but I know you will be strong through all of it.  You are full of personality, and people would never guess that the start of your life was not an easy one.  You had to work harder to survive and you will probably always have to work a little harder than everyone else, just to keep up.  But the way you have grown by leaps and bounds, even just in the last couple months, astonishes me and your dad.  We are so proud of the little boy you are becoming.  Everyone who meets you loves you instantly.  I hope your charm grows with you.

Even though we don’t always see eye to eye, I wouldn’t trade you for anything in the whole wide world.  You’re my brave little love bean.  And even with a broken heart, you certainly are the heart of this family.  You present me with new challenges every day, but when I rock you to sleep in my arms, it’s my favorite part.  Not only because I know a little break is coming my way, but I get to hold you.  You don’t like to be held often, so this time of day brings us both a lot of peace.  I can’t help but let the tears fall at your angelic face. It’s those peaceful moments that get me through to the next and allow me to reflect on how grateful we are that you are in our lives.  Don’t grow too quickly, because I want to look at your sweet face and hold your sleepy body in my arms.  Just a little bit longer.
