Hometown Football Game

There is something about living in Burbank.  It’s a city of about 100,000.  But somehow it still maintains sort of a small-town feel.  There’s a car show every weekend at the Bob’s Big Boy.  There is a whole street of antique shops.  The people are friendly.  The neighborhood streets are lined with trees.  And the whole town gathers for the high school homecoming game between the two hometown rivals.  Can’t say I was anticipating that the whole town would be there and ended up having to wait in a huge line to get in, but it’s the idea behind it I guess.

Paul went to high school here.  (Bit of trivia: it’s the actual high school that the show Glee is based on!)  All his friends went to high school here.  And I’ve known Paul and his friends so long, that sometimes I forget I didn’t actually go to high school here myself.  So I have no problem cheering for a school that isn’t my own.  Our school lost.  Bad.  But we’ll be back next year to root for them again.

Trying to distract Stevie with Sesame Street videos.  Do you think it worked?  Nah.Looks like he’s totally into it.  We really just had to take turns watching him crawl all around the stadium.

Go Burroughs!
