Jumpsuit Turned Romper

This is, indeed, a jumpsuit turned romper. Correct me if I’m using the wrong terminology but, in my head a jumpsuit is pants and a romper is shorts. Because clearly… shorts are for romping. I actually liked this when it was a jumpsuit too. But when I got my Everlane jumpsuit, I knew between the two, I would choose that one every time. And that’s one of the main reasons I don’t like having too many redundant pieces in my closet. There’s always an underdog that doesn’t get worn — why even have it?

So at that point, I had two options: sell/donate or pull out the sewing machine. I still wouldn’t say its like my favorite thing to wear ever, but I’m glad I could extend it’s life a bit longer. And now that it’s hemmed, I’m thinking of changing the straps as well. The skinny straps don’t balance me very well, so I could use the leftover leg fabric to make something a little wider (and maybe a matching mask while I’m at it!)

outfit notes

I didn’t really create an “outfit” today, but I guess that’s a major perk of a jumpsuit turned romper. It’s a one-and-done sort of look. But I know if I’m going to wear this again, I’ll have to come up with some more creative styling so I don’t get bored with it.

allyship notes

If you didn’t already guess, I loved this last episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Not only did the segment make me laugh with the opening mummy voice, but it piqued my interest because he discussed U.S. history (or really the lack thereof) along with American exceptionalism, and why it’s so hard for us as white people to process the real thing. I don’t know about you, but I wish I wasn’t learning this stuff at 40+ yrs old.

loves,
jaana
