Crop Tank Top

To be honest, a crop tank top and jeans isn’t theeee most comfortable thing in the world for hanging around the house all day. But putting together new looks from the same old things does bring me a sense of joy and satisfaction. After the year that we’ve had, I’m realizing small methods of self care right here at home have become more important than ever. But I’m learning to accept that my self care tactics will flip-flop frequently, depending on the day (or the hour). Sometimes I want to get dolled up to feel good, and some days it feels better not to worry about it at all. One day I won’t get ready until noon and the next day I’m back in my pajamas by 4pm. I’m just going with what feels best at even given moment. And speaking of self-care, I need to give myself a pedicure like nobody’s business.

outfit notes

You’ve already seen this tank top featured, and as someone who has a LOT of personal styling and shopping rules (kind of annoying, actually) you better believe a crop tank top is no exception. It will always be paired with high waisted bottoms and it’s become a uniform of sorts. When I keep little guidelines like that in my mind, it just makes it easier to create an outfit and not fumble through getting dressed.

allyship notes

As I mentioned in my post yesterday, I want to share resources that I have found helpful as I work to break down my innate biases and white privilege. Today I’m keeping it simple and pointing you in the direction of a great movie, called Just Mercy. It’s streaming free the entire month of June as an educational tool. And… wow. I was peak emotional when I watched it and cried and cried imagining the pain and frustration of going through something like this. I highly recommend it.
