New White Shorts

Stevie and I had a good start to the day, which also felt like a good start to the week — taking a nice long walk this morning. But by around 2pm, we were both in full on meltdown mode. Truly? I don’t know how these next few months are going to look. I’m hella anxious and overwhelmed knowing we are one week out from starting distance learning again. And while it’s nice to have a pseudo-schedule to occupy his time, it’s also a lot of gosh dang work. I’m so beyond burned out already from being home at the kid’s beck and call for the past 5 months, it just feels impossible. I know we’ll survive because that’s just how we do. But hard as I try to embrace it all, I really dislike this whole season of parenthood.

outfit notes

I finally found some new white shorts! My other pair had a hole on the bum in a place that couldn’t be easily mended. And since they were already a little on the shorter, tighter side, I have been anxious to replace them with something more comfortable. I tried a few different styles and these were the immediate winners. Button fly with a nice loose thigh area, and a comfortable mid-rise that doesn’t pinch or pull anywhere. These are in my true size, and fit just how I was hoping. Of course you could always size down if you like them a little more fitted.

allyship notes

I’ve just started listening to the new podcast Nice White Parents (also available on other streaming services). I am one among the nicest, whitest parents, so I knew I’d learn something here.
