Sneakers

Dare I say… today seemed kinda like a normal-ish Saturday? We did some cleaning up at home, I dyed some clothing, we had some bomb vegan burgers for lunch, followed by Target shopping (for the first time in 6 months!), and some extra screen time to round out the afternoon. I have to admit, the Target crowds still make me very uneasy. Not to sound dramatic, but the medical history in this family does not put me at ease in any sense when it comes to risk of illness. Stevie has had a lot of doctors say “we’ve never seen this before”, and I would like to avoid hearing those words at all costs when it comes to this situation. But I’m also trying to push through some of my own anxiety because unfortunately, at some point, I have to learn to live with this thing. As much as I resist all this new normal nonsense. I’m so glad masks are required here so I can focus on keeping my distance and keeping my hands clean. Now I’m on the other side of a Target trip so I’ll keep you posted on my survival. LOL!

outfit details

I apologize in advance for my lazy pictures, but they do the trick, right? All just for documentation purposes. Alright, today’s prompt for the #monthlystylechallenge was “sneakers”. Are they called sneakers or tennis shoes where you live? Here it goes either way. But anyway, I wear sneakers a LOT in the cooler months and consider them one of my style staples. So this challenge gave me a good excuse to pull them out and try them with my trusty jumpsuit to see how it’ll transition. I dig. I also chose to layer a fitted tee under my jumpsuit to save me from having to wash it after one wear — but I ended up spilling on myself anyway. Sounds like me.

anti-racism notes

One of my biggest frustrations is talking to family members about matters of race and politics. The smartest people in my family are just as stubborn as I am, ha! So I am always seeking easy explanations that not only sound impactful, but that I will remember. My memory is complete shit and I think my brain is even more overloaded and in a state of brokenness this year. Here’s a simple one to bookmark, not that they’d believe me if I tried to tell them. LOL. (Isn’t it exhausting??)

loves,
jaana

  1. Stay safe down there! Up in Canada (at least wherever I’ve lived) we actually call them runners:)

    1. I actually like that. Maybe I’ll adopt calling them runners too 🙂
